Connect the unit and calibrate

This is the routine you'll run at the start of every scanning session.

Hardware connections

1. Hand-tighten the fiber optic cable (Part C) into the probe (Part A) at the 45° connector.
2. Connect the probe power source (Part B) to the probe handle (Part A).
3. Plug the probe power source (Part B) into a power outlet.
4. Turn the probe on — the switch is on the probe handle (Part A) on newer units, or on the probe power source (Part B) on older units. The small light at the probe tip should be visible.
5. Make sure your laptop is plugged in.

Calibrate the sensors

Follow on-screen directions to provide light and dark references using the reference cap.

Once both indicators are green, you're ready to scan.
